Abstract

BiNbO4 ceramic powders have been developed at different sintering temperatures (700°C, 800°C, 900°C) by using a solid state reaction method. Based on the measurement of XRD profiles of these ceramic powders, the sample sintered at 800°C has revealed a better crystallinity compared to other two samples, the optimization of sintering temperature could therefore be fixed as 800°C. For such a sample FTIR, Raman spectrum and dielectric properties have been measured. For the as prepared sample of BiNbO4, simultaneous measurement of TG-DTA has been carried out to understand its thermal properties.
