Abstract

Abstract Two forms of blood group A active glycolipids (L and U) containing oligosaccharides of 7 sugar residues have been isolated from hog stomach mucosa lipid extract (Slomiany, A., and Horowitz, M. I. (1973) J. Biol. Chem. 248, 6232–6238. Partial acid hydrolysis, infrared spectroscopy, periodate oxidation, permethylation, and sequential enzymatic degradation were used to elucidate the glycolipid structures.
