Abstract
lasses belonging to the x Fe 2 O 3·(100–x)[ 3B 2 O 3· CaO ] system (with 0 ≤ x ≤ 50 mol %) have been investigated by IR spectroscopy. The influence of the gradual increase of Fe 2 O 3 content on the glass structure is revealed. Using FT-IR spectroscopy, the local structural units in glasses studied were found to have been modified by the presence of and the dependence on the Fe 2 O 3 content.
