Abstract
The title compound (Pr 2(C 3H 2O 4) 3·6H 2O) was investigated by X-ray studies. It crystallises in the monoclinic space group C2/c with cell parameters a=17.260(7) Å, b=12.423(5) Å, c=11.238(4) Å, Z=4 and V=1911.58(13) Å 3. The compound forms a layer-type polymeric structure. The layers are formed by praseodymium and one independent malonate group, giving a three-dimensional framework structure. It is stabilized by intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The thermal dehydration of the compound was investigated by TGA measurements.
