Abstract

The 1H and 13C NMR spectra of erythromycin A enol ether in CD3OD and CDCl3 and its 1H NMR spectrum in buffered D2O have been assigned using a range of one- and two-dimensional NMR techniques. The structure of erythromycin A enol ether has been confirmed and its role as a degradation product of erythromycin A has been clarified.
