Abstract

Hybrid glasses prepared by sol–gel method are considered as promising candidates for corrosion protection coatings. Hybrids based on TEOS (tetraethylorthosilicate)–TEOT (tetraethylorthotitanate)–GLYMO (3-glicydoxypropyltrimethoxysilane) and TEOS–TEOT–MTMS (methyltrimethoxysilane) systems were synthesized by sol–gel method. Structure of the glasses was studied by FTIR, XPS and optical spectroscopy. It was revealed that the titanium is present in tetrahedral and octahedral coordination. High resolution SIMS technique was used to verify homogeneity of the layers.
