Abstract

The operating capacities of thermal protective coatings in engine-building are considered. The opportunities for increasing the efficiency of thermal protective coatings owing to the creation of a special dense fine layer are analyzed. The layer is produced by the method of plasma dynamic pulse modification of the surface and plasma gas-thermal deposition of a powder material containing fine particles. Theoretical aspects of these methods are considered and the results of studies of such coatings and their application to parts used in the high-temperature path of a gas turbine engine are presented.
