Abstract
A structural reanalysis method by perturbation approach is presented in this paper. The original system is supposed to be classically damped, thereby having the same real modes as the corresponding undamped system. The reanalysis procedure is then executed in configuration space by using the known real modes and the system modification information. Different from previous ones, the present method can deal with the case in which the original system has repeated eigenvalues. The method requires the knowledge of, not the complete original eigensolution set, but only those eigenpairs to be perturbed, which enables us to predict the dynamic property for complex systems of large order. Two numerical examples are given.
