Abstract
In this paper, a new effective method for modal reanalysis of structures subjected to topological modifications is presented. The effect of inertia coupling between the old degrees of freedom and the new added degrees of freedom is introduced with iterative perturbation. Furthermore, the extended Kirsch method is utilized to improve the accuracy of the starting solutions. The numerical examples are given for frame and truss structures. Results are compared to the exact solution and prove that the proposed method is effective.
