Abstract
Abstract Thermally activated frequency and temperature dependent anelastic effects in Fe–Ga and Fe–Ga–Al alloys with 13, 17%Ga and 5%Al are analyzed. Activation parameters for thermally activated relaxation peaks are evaluated. Frequency independent effects caused by structural transformations (ordering and disordering) are studied. Physical mechanisms are proposed for most of these effects. Origin of high damping capacity of Fe–Ga alloy is checked by applying magnetic field and different heat treatment regimes.
