Structural masonry under flexural and compressive loads

Abstract

Pathological problems arise in structural masonries walls due to fails in details and design erros along lifetime. The study becames important when is focused loads and strength of walls. This paper aims to evaluate pathologies which arise in walls due to a bad behavior of the walls in structural masonry. Flexural strength, shear forces, compressive loads on walls are analysed in a Symbolic Algebraic Computational treatment. Analytical methods are used in compliance with International and National Codes. Procedures are suggested in order to avoid several anomalies that arise due to design failures.
