Abstract

In this particular investigation, the tetragonal α1-LiVOPO4 cathode material was successfully synthesized employing a sol-gel technique for the first time. The X-ray diffraction studies have confirmed the tetragonal structure with the space group P4/nmm. A range of characterizations, such as Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy and magnetic measurements, have been executed. The Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) coupled with Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) has been employed to assess the surface morphology and chemical composition of the sample produced. Additionally, electrochemical measurements, including galvanostatic charge-discharge, cyclic voltammetry, and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), have been conducted. The material has demonstrated an outstanding electrochemical performance, which can be attributed to the facile diffusion of Li+ ions along a two-dimensional pathway and the efficient charge transfer process.
