Abstract
Mg doped La0.67(Sr1-xMgx)0.33MnO3 (x=0, 0.4, 0.5) manganite samples have been prepared and their structural, magnetic and electrical properties have been studied. The XRD patterns show that all samples have rhombohedral crystal structure. M vs. H data show that all the samples remain soft ferromagnet although the saturation magnetization decreases linearly with x with hardly any change in the coercive field which is about ∼10 Oe. The Curie temperature (Tc) and metal to insulator transition temperature TMI also decrease with increase in x. Resistivity measurements, without field (H=0T) and with field (H=9T) were done within the temperature range 5K to 300K. Magnetoresistance of the samples increases with increases of the Mg doping level (x).
