Abstract

Manganites with Dy0.5(Sr1-xCax)0.5MnO3 formula (x = 0; x = 0.05; x = 0.1; x = 0.2 and x = 0.3) were prepared via the well-known sol-gel method. They were indexed to the orthorhombic Pnma space group. Zero field cooled (ZFC) and field cooled (FC) magnetization measurements display antiferromagnetic (AFM) order among Mn spins at TN(Mn) which decreases from around 65 K (for x = 0) to about 35 K (for x = 0.3). Dy–spins order antiferromagnetically at very low temperature for samples with x > 0. Magnetization does not saturate up to field of 5 T. AC magnetic susceptibility was checked and investigated to show the absence of spin glasses in these systems.
