Abstract
AbstractThe structure analysis of water quenched blast furnace type slags quenched at different water temperatures and water pressures was performed by means of X-ray diffraction. The presence of SiO4 and AlO4 tetrahedra were quantitatively confirmed in the glassy phase of all slag samples. The environment around the calcium atom suggests that the structure of these slags is basically similar to that observed in merwinite or melilite. The structure of an industrial blast furnace slag was also determined.
