Abstract

Molar and mean atomic volumes have been calculated and analyzed for binary tellurite glasses doped with transition metal oxides (TMO) like MoO 3 and V 2O 5. Analysis of the compositional dependence of elastic properties of the binary tellurite glasses in terms of the bulk modules-volume and bond compression model relationships have been achieved. The number of bonds per unit volume, the value of the average stretching force constant present in the binary glasses have been calculated in order to discuss the inter-atomic bonding of network modifiers and network former and their correlation with the elastic property of the present noncrystalline solid. Both Debye and Einstein temperatures with the values of the mean atomic volume and number of vibrating atoms per unit volume present in the binary glasses have been calculated and discussed.
