Abstract

The introduction of sulfate ions into vanadate-phosphate glasses may lead to a rearrangement of structure and the acquisition of new properties by the glass. In [i] we reported initial results from an investigation of the structure of glasses of the pseudoternary system Na2P206-V2Os-Na2SO4, using ESR with a vanadium(IV) spin probe. The work reported here was aimed at studying the influence of sulfate ions on the structure of vanadate-phosphate glasses, using intrinsic and radiation-induced paramagnetic centers :(PMC) with vanadium(IV).
