Abstract

In this paper, the bisphenol A segment is introduced into the molecular chain by molecular design to avoid high molecular weight crystalline PEN, while having good crystallization ability due to the internal plasticization of the bisphenol A segment. Three PEN copolymers with different structures were synthesized by adjusting the structures of the crystalline segments. Firstly, the crystallization ability, thermal and mechanical properties of PEN with different structures were studied. Then, for the hydroquinone/bisphenol A copolymerized PEN with a tensile strength of 121.7 MPa, an elongation at break of 9.94%, stable dielectric properties and good crystallization ability, the effects of hot-pressing conditions on the properties were investigated. The results show that temperature and pressure have a synergistic effect while the temperature factor dominates. Finally, the best processing conditions were confirmed. This is a guideline for the study of semi-crystalline PEN and provides a theoretical basis for application.
