Abstract

The safe and effective disposal of explosives is an essential part in the development of weapon systems. A new chamber for internal blast with explosion venting channel is introduced in this article. The computation for the design of the chamber under blast waves loading is proposed for both fully confined explosion and partially confined explosion. In addition, damage from the possible collapse or spalling failure under repeating blasts is assessed and analyzed based on plane stress wave propagation theory.
