Abstract

Physical and physicochemical methods are used to study a blend based on industrial crab chitosan and polyvinylpyrrolidone over a wide composition range. Thermodynamic data indicate that this pair of polymers is compatible at certain component ratios. However, electron micrographs show that the polymeric layers are heterogeneous. The degree of heterogeneity is least at a 1:1 ratio
