Abstract

High concentrate Co doped ZnO nanostructures, were prepared using solution method. Prepared samples were characterized by different characterization techniques. Structural analysis was done by X ray-diffraction (XRD) and found the formation of the wurtzite hexagonal structure of ZnO without any essence presence of the Co related clusters. Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) images indicated change in surface morphology of ZnO due to introducing of Co ions into ZnO lattice. UV visible spectroscopy showed red shift in the optical band gap of ZnO because of Co doping. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) showed stretching vibration mode of Zn-O at 527 cm-1which indicated the formation of the wurtzite hexagonal structure of ZnO.
