Abstract

This paper presents the structural and optical properties of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods on indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass prepared by electrochemical deposition technique. The deposition process was carried out at controlled temperature of 95°C and applied voltages of -1.0 and -1.1 V respectively. The structural and crystallization properties of the nanorods were characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and x-ray diffractometer (XRD). The optical properties were studied using photoluminescence and Raman scattering. The results showed that ZnO nanorods with a diameter of 417 and 335 nm were formed on the ITO glass at -1.0 and -1.1 V respectively. The nanorods also exhibit good crystallization and optical properties.
