Abstract

The low-temperature ferroelectric G2 polymorph of K 3WO 3F 3 oxyfluoride is formed by chemical synthesis. The electronic parameters of G2-K 3WO 3F 3 have been measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy under excitation with Al K α radiation (1486.6 eV). Detailed spectra have been recorded for all element core levels and Auger lines. The chemical bonding effects in the WO 3F 3 and WO 6 octahedrons are considered by using the binding energy difference Δ BE ( O – W ) = BE ( O 1 s ) − BE ( W 4 f 7 / 2 ) .
