Abstract

Sr 5RTi 3Ta 7O 30 (R=Sm, Y) ceramics were prepared and characterized. Sr 5RTi 3Ta 7O 30 (R=Sm, Y) belong to paraelectric phases of filled tetragonal tungsten bronze (TB) structure at room temperature. Phase transitions around 0 °C for Sr 5YTi 3Ta 7O 30 and around −40 °C for Sr 5SmTi 3Ta 7O 30 were observed by DSC measurements. Sr 5SmTi 3Ta 7O 30 and Sr 5YTi 3Ta 7O 30 ceramics show high dielectric constant of 116 and 108 together with low dielectric loss 4.2×10 −3 and 4.5×10 −3 at 1 MHz, respectively. In comparison with Ba-based ceramics with TB structure, the temperature coefficients of the dielectric constant ( τ ε ) are significantly reduced.
