Abstract
The structures of regular copolymers of butadiene of repeat unit [ButRBut], where R is an alkyl ligand, are studied by the preparation of model compounds HRButButRH under identical experimental conditions. The effect of varying experimental parameters, such as temperature, ligand, etc., on the probability of 1,2-addition is examined; the differences in activation energy between 1,2 and 1,4 addition are considered.
