Abstract

AbstractThis paper describes how general‐purpose finite element structural analysis computer programs can be used, without modification, to solve various scalar field equations such as the wave equation, the Helmholtz equation, Laplace's equation, Poisson's equation, the heat equation and the telegraph equation, as well as mixed field problems (such as coupled structural‐acoustic problems) which involve these equations.
