Abstract
We study the chiral phase transition in SU(3) lattice gauge theory with Kogut-Susskind fermions at finite chemical potential and finite temperature using a strong coupling and a 1 d expansion. The agreement with available Monte Carlo data is in general quite good. The critical value of the chemical potential increases when we move away from infinite coupling and approaches one third of the baryon mass.
