Abstract
A classification of elementary particles based on a group of rank 3 which allows to treat symmetrically the three additive quantum numbers,B, Y, T 3, is considered. The model implies the existence of a hypotetical particle X, with strangeness of the same sign of the baryon number, whose mass and decay are discussed.
