Abstract

The stripping rates of cadmium from n-heptane solution containing Cd-D2EHPA complex by hydrochloric acid were measured with a stirred transfer cell, and the rate data were correlated as a function of the concentrations of hydrochloric acid, Cd-D2EHPA complex and uncomplexed D2EHPA.The expression for this stripping was coupled with an equation for the extraction and the extraction equilibrium formulation published previously, and the mass-action constant as the ratio of the two rate constants was found to give the extraction equilibrium constant.
