Abstract
Multisegment silver–gold alloy nanowire barcodes, with distinct optical-reflectance striping patterns (see image), have been prepared using the same plating solution and 3–4 different deposition potentials. The new multisegment alloy protocol combines a remarkably high coding capacity with a greatly simplified code production method compared with that of commonly used bimetal nanowires.
