Abstract

String teachers encounter a variety of technical problems with student instruments and bows. Some problems require expert repairs by an experienced repairperson. Less advanced repairs may be accomplished by the teacher in the studio or classroom. Limited repair budgets and the desire for students to continue their regular practice routines are reasons for teachers to learn simple repairs that may be accomplished with a minimum of tools, supplies, time, and knowledge.
