String operator expansion of the T product of two currents near the light cone

Abstract

The local operators in the Wilson expansion are shown to group in straight-line string operators. The expansion in string operators enables us to obtain the twist-four contribution to the T product, which is rather difficult with conventional techniques. The well-known logarithmic corrections to scaling are also obtained from the expansion.
