Abstract

String Fusion Model results on Pb–Pb central collisions at SPS energies are compared to experimental data. Three of the main features of data, namely: a lower than expected multiplicity, the strangeness enhancement and the antiproton production outside the initial nucleon–nucleon kinematical limits can be explained as a consequence of the fusion of strings.
