Abstract

Combining the multi-log2N networks architecture and directional coupler technology is an interesting approach to building the photonic switching networks. This paper studies the strictly nonblocking design of such photonic multi-log2N networks under the general/cast traffic and various crosstalk constraints. This study covers the traditional designs for unicast traffic (f=1) or the designs for multicast traffic (f=N) as special cases.
