Abstract

A Master equation approach is used to derive accurate numerical relaxation data for the case of random walks on a dilute hypercube. The results show stretched exponential relaxation over a wide time interval, with a precision orders of magnitude better than in previous studies. The stretched exponential relaxation observed in spin glasses and other complex systems is interpreted in terms of ‘rough landscape’ configuration spaces having fractal structure.
