Abstract

Stretchability via structural changes is important for many products. In this study, we report that conductive carbon mesh material that was made by the self-organization process using induced charge electro-osmosis (ICEO) under DC electric fields shows large stretchability. In particular, we demonstrate that the carbon mesh material works as a stretchable actuator using ICEO under AC electric fields. Our finding is useful for future microfluidic circuits.
