Abstract
Iron and copper single crystals were studied with the aid of the X-ray divergent beam method after various stages of cathodic polarization. The stress-strain analysis of the various stages of the hydrogenation disclosed an anisotropy of strain distribution in the matrix. The maximum strain direction of the principal strain was found to coincide with one of the (111) directions for iron crystal and one of the (100) directions for copper respectively.
