Abstract
A mathematical formulation utilized the Ritz technique with Lagrange multipliers to predict the behavior of laminated composites under uniform transverse loading with particular focus on the Antisymmetric Angle Ply Clamped plates. The numerical results, with the effect of shear deformation theory, for both graphite/epoxy and boron/epoxy plates are presented. Cases of deflections and stresses of the laminate are analyzed for several geometric parameters of the plate. A brief examination to failure also studied using both Tsai Wu theory and the recently developed Yeh Stratton criterion.
