Abstract

Determining the stress state and bearing capacity of piles and soil is an important task in geotechnics. There are experimental and theoretical methods for assessing the stress state and bearing capacity of piles and soil. In this article, using the stress function, the axisymmetric problem of the stress state of an elastic half-space of soil under the action of a single pile is solved. Formulas for stresses in soil are derived and integral estimates of the influence of the pile length on the stress state are conducted. When performing an integral assessment, it was found that when using the analytical method of research, instead of a finite pile, it is quite acceptable to consider an infinite one, the difference will be insignificant. The resulting formulas for calculating the stresses arising in soil make it possible to evaluate the bearing capacity of a pile.
