Abstract

The problem of equilibrium of hollow cylinders whose cross sections have the shape of connected semicorrugations is studied in the three-dimensional formulation. The cross section is specified by a continuous curve (shortened epicycloid). The problem is solved by using a numerical-analytical approach based on the application of the methods of separation of variables and approximation of functions by discrete Fourier series and the numerical method of discrete orthogonalization. The results of solution of the problem are presented in the form of the plots of the fields of stresses and displacements.
