Abstract

The elastic analysis of an infinite plate containing a rigid line and acted upon by concentrated forces is presented. The proposed problem can be considered as a superposition of several particular problems, which can all be solved by conformal mapping techniques using in complex variable functions. Furthermore, the solutions are presented in closed form and several sets of results for the stress singularity coefficients at the rigid line tips are given.
