Abstract

This chapter presents an accurate and robust scheme for evaluating mixed-mode stress intensity factors (SIFs) and T-stress by means of the interaction integral (M-integral) method considering arbitrarily oriented cracks in two-dimensional elastic functionally graded materials (FGMs). It is observed that the interaction integral method is quite accurate in calculating SIFs and T-stress in FGMs. The material nonhomogeneity βα shows significant influence on the fracture parameters (SIFs and T-stress) in FGMs.
