Abstract
Two equal parallel cracks on one edge and one unequal parallel crack on the other edge of a finite width sheet are studied. Formulae for calculating the stress intensity factors (SIF) of this crack configuration are obtained from the results of finite element analysis. The difference between the formulae and the finite element results is less than 3%. On this basis, the influence of crack interactions on SIF is discussed.
