Abstract
Crypt cell cycle times and mitotic times were measured in the jejunum of control and stressed rats. In an attempt to elucidate the mechanism by which stress influences cell proliferation, the effect of stress on cell cycle time and mitotic time was also studied in adrenalectomised rats, sympathectomised rats and in rats which were subjected to beta adrenergic blockage.
