Abstract

In this study, an analytical method is presented to solve the problem of thermoelectro-elastic transient response of transversely isotropic piezoelectric solid spheres subjected to thermal shock, mechanical load, and electric excitation. Exact expressions for the transient responses of stresses and electric potential in transversely isotropic piezoelectric solid spheres are obtained by means of Hankel transform and Laplace transform. Some numerical examples are carried out, and may be used as a reference to solve other dynamic coupled problems of thermoelectroelasticity.
