Abstract
Injuries have become a major cause of death and disability globally. This is true in developed countries as well as low- and middle-income countries (LMICs, or developing countries). In most developed countries, rates of death from injuries have been declining in recent years, whereas they are continuing to rise in most LMICs, due primarily to increasing rates of road traffic crashes. 1.
