Abstract

A solution is given for a sequence of boundary value problems in the theory of large deformations of materials with elastic, plastic, and viscous properties. This sequence is related to viscoelastic deformation and determination of the time and location of the plastic flow origination, development of this flow, and the subsequent unloading of the medium with a single spherical continuity defect. The level and distribution of residual stresses near the defect and its final dimensions are calculated.
