Abstract

1. Along with strengthening, weakening by the mechanism of dynamic recovery and dynamic recrystallization occurs in the process of deformation of low-carbon steel under the experimental conditions used. 2. With lowering of the deformation temperature the degree of deformation corresponding to maximum strengthening increases. 3. The stability of strengthening decreases with increasing deformation. The structure strengthened to different degrees obtained by dynamic recrystallization has the lowest resistance. 4. The condition of austenite before deformation has a substantial effect on the initial stage of strain hardening. Refining of austenite grains and creation of the initial substructure strengthen the effect of hot strain hardening.
