Abstract

Attendance at a Roman Catholic church in a metropolitan area had declined markedly over the past few years. With the cooperation of church officials, a needs assessment was conducted, and the findings indicated that parishioners wanted to be more actively involved in the services. The intervention involved introducing a children's choir in the 12:30 Mass, and later organizing an adult choir for the 9:30 Mass. With the onset of these interventions, attendance increased significantly at both Masses.
