Abstract

At the City Colleges of Chicago, about half of students who complete an associate degree transfer elsewhere within two years of graduating. That proportion has held steady for six years, said Shelley Lemons, Executive Director of the Office of Student Transitions. During that time, the percentage of African American students transferring to complete a bachelor's degree declined, she added.
